Remember how the fatal lessons of rationed care and refused procedures were dismissed by the pro-ObamaCare know-it-alls as fear mongering? Remember how the testimonies of grieving survivors and harmed patients suffering loss from the Death Panels of socialized medicine systems in Canada, Britain and Europe were pooh-poohed as exaggerated and unfortunate exceptions? Now, the same belligerent media leftists who ridiculed and rejected our concerns about Death Panels and healthcare rationing are explicitly praising these totalitarian practices: Cynthia Tucker, with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, recently penned an article entitled: "Yes, We Need Death Panels." Paul Krugman, of The New York Times, told ABC This Week that "the real solution… is going to be a combination of Death Panels and sales taxes." Jay Bookman, also with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, has been writing on: "Why 'death panels' are a necessary evil."
DEMAND CONGRESS: NO IPAB, NO OBAMACARE – REPEAL IT NOW! – SELECT HERE H.R. 452, the Medicare Decisions Accountability Act of 2011, introduced by Tennessee Congressman Philip Roe, M.D., is a simple piece of legislation to REPEAL the death-dealing IPAB. It is only one paragraph long, and its single purpose is to repeal ObamaCare Death Panels before Americans are killed by them: "Effective as of the enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Public Law 111-148), sections 3403 and 10320 of such Act (including the amendments made by such sections) are repealed, and any provision of law amended by such sections is hereby restored as if such sections had not been enacted into law."

H.R. 452 has 93 co-sponsors and bi-partisan support. Sixteen Democrats have joined 77 Republicans as co-sponsors of this legislation and H.R. 452 would pass with a huge bi-partisan vote tomorrow, IF we can get this bill to the floor of the House. And while it actually could carry both houses in an election year, even if it is killed in the Senate by super-liberal Obama Democrats, such a vote would be a HUGE wake up call to the nation about the life-and-death threats posed to all Americans by ObamaCare! DEMAND CONGRESS: NO IPAB, NO OBAMACARE – REPEAL IT NOW! – SELECT HERE America needs to know that while there was a lot of focus on ObamaCare's end of life counseling, the "old people cost too much" faction of the Obama administration slipped into their Orwellian legislation a benign sounding board with life and death power of Medicare treatment decisions called IPAB. This 15 member decision making body, appointed by the president and answerable only to him, will have total control over how much care senior citizens will be allowed to receive. Payment caps will be determined on cost-benefit criteria set for society, not on need of the individual patient. Old patients with few years ahead and "less cost-benefit outlook" are not going get payment authorization for life-saving care. Stanley Kurtz with National Review Online, explains how it will work: "IPAB's price controls will lead to one-size-fits-all rationing. As IPAB caps Medicare payments for various services, the elderly will be unable to obtain many kinds of care, or will experience de facto rationing via long treatment delays and sharp declines in the quality of care." And rationed health care and Death Panels under Medicare is only the beginning. Kurz has shown that in ObamaCare's relentless quest for universal coverage, IPAB's coercion will soon apply to every man, woman and child in America: "IPAB's authority has got to extend beyond Medicare. The idea… is to wait until the massive financial strains brought on by ObamaCare bring calls for cost control. That's when the Democrats will push for IPAB's authority to be extended beyond Medicare to all of ObamaCare, at which point we'll be very close to a single-payer health-care system…." The stated purpose of the IPAB is so horrifying and so clearly a discriminatory attack first on our most vulnerable seniors, that even onetime ObamaCare champion Barney Frank has come out in strong opposition – desperately trying to stop the impending Death Panels before so much as one senior is lost to a bureaucratic machine designed to lower medical bills by denying medical care to the people who need it the most. Phil Roe, Barney Frank and a bi-partisan group of lawmakers have now come forward to admit that the IPAB created by ObamaCare are the true"Death Panels" which will have the final say on how much money and how much care Medicare recipients will be allowed to receive – but Congress has H.R. 452 to REPEAL these odious powers!
Otherwise, if the broken hip your mother suffered in January burned through the money limit IPAB allotted for her age, Heaven help her if she needs a pacemaker in June…because chances are, it won't be approved by the Death Panel looking at money, not medical necessity. Even more terrifying, seniors will have no recourse but to accept the fact that the IPAB has put them out to pasture, because doctors who dare defy the IPAB by providing the truly life-saving and life-extending services patients need will be punished. DEMAND CONGRESS: NO IPAB, NO OBAMACARE – REPEAL IT NOW! – SELECT HERE Burke Balch, JD and Jennifer Popik of the Robert Powell Center for Medical Ethics note that any doctor who provides services beyond what the IPAB authorizes will be forbidden from contracting with any qualified health insurance plan. In other words, doctors who actually live up to their Hippocratic oath and serve their patients instead of the state will be run out of business. WE KNOW the plain fact of the matter is the entire ObamaCare bill needs to be scrapped before any senior is forced to accept a wake instead of a hip replacement. But Representatives Roe and Frank have sponsored legislation H.R. 452 to end the IPAB Death Panels – and their Congressional debates and votes over ObamaCare's threat to life, liberty and happiness could be key. Publicly battling the Orwellian violations by IPAB of our human dignity, unalienable rights and God-given liberty are an essential fight we MUST wage in the war against ObamaCare.
