Dear DHFC Supporter, Like a recurring bad dream, the Occupy movement returned this past weekend. This time there were no appeals about the downtrodden and left behind--only an outburst of violence and vile rhetoric that showed its true face. This is a movement that only pretends to be sympathetic to the victims of America's current economic problems. Actually, the Occupy gang is thankful for the opportunity these problems offer--an opportunity to bash America once again and everything it stands for. The violence and chaos we saw over the weekend--highlighted by ritualized burning of the American flag and expressions of naked anti-Semitism--is what the Occupy movement is all about. Never mind the 1% and the 99%: that's all window dressing for a movement that is and always has been 100% anti-American. I say "always has been" because the occupiers are umbilically connected to the Communist Party of the 1930s and the radical New Left of the 1960s. We have seen these people before. They come not to make America better, but to destroy it and to substitute their deformed totalitarian ideas for a system of government and an engine of economic power that have been the envy of the world. And the worst thing about the Occupy movement that trashed our cities this past weekend is that it has been given the tacit go ahead by the White House. Barack Obama has winked at the occupiers and let them know he's with them. His administration and the Democratic Party own the Occupy movement. The occupiers are moving the President's agenda in the streets with their calls for class warfare and a transformation of America, as the hardcore left has always said, by any means necessary. SUPREME COURT D.O.A. FOR KAGAN OBAMACARE RECUSAL The highest court in the land has apparently lost the nerve to cross the man seated in the Oval Office. A recent request for a Supreme Court debate as to whether Elena Kagan should recuse herself from hearing the upcoming ObamaCare pleadings has been flatly denied. It is time for Congress to step in and do their job – maintain the balance of powers and protect the integrity of the high court. SIGN THE PETITION – KAGAN MUST RECUSE– SELECT HERE "I have complete confidence in the capability of my colleagues to determine when recusal is warranted," said Chief Justice Roberts in his year-end report. The absurdity of this statement is apparent in Kagan's steadfast refusal to remove herself from the ObamaCare case. As chief appellate lawyer for the Obama administration, Elena Kagan openly supported the ObamaCare law, and celebrated its passage even as under her direct supervision her own staff in her own office began organizing arguments in defense of the law they knew would be challenged. Emails in which Kagan discussed the law with staffers have already been released.After heading the department preparing to defend ObamaCare in court, not to mention managing the attorneys assigned to defend Obama's "signature legislation," it is simply illogical to assume Kagan could be impartial. Publicly available e-mails … and other evidence, demonstrates that the Office of the Solicitor General was involved in discussions about how to defend the ACA, and it is undisputed that Justice Kagan was the head of that Office…" The integrity of the Supreme Court, and what remains of our system of co-equal branches and balance of powers, is imperiled by Kagan's arrogant refusal to recuse herself from this case and the rest of the Court's willingness to "play dead" for the Obama administration.
