Palin: ‘Dumb arses’ in media ‘overplayed their hand’ with Gingrich

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has now weighed in on the controversy surrounding an ABC interview with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s ex-wife, and Palin had some tough words for the media.
In an appearance on Sean Hannity’s Thursday radio show, Palin likened the pending interview to her experience with author Joe McGinniss, who staked out her Alaska home while writing a book. But according to Palin, with Gingrich the media “overplayed their hand.”
“I call them ‘dumb arses,’” she said. “They think by trotting out this old Gingrich divorce interview — that’s old news and it does feature this disgruntled ex- that claimed that it would destroy a campaign. All this does is, Sean, is incentivize conservatives and independents who are so sick of the politics of personal destruction because it’s played so selectively by the media.”
“Their target in this case, Newt,” Palin added, “is now going to soar even more because we know the game now and we just won’t put up with it. So you know, good call media. Way to go to covertly hype this, even with Gingrich opponents. For being so brilliant, they sure are dumb.”

I think the mainstream media is trying to protray Gingrich as a hypocrite when it comes to morality and his personal life. If you recall, it was Gingrich who made a very big deal out of Clinton’s extra-marital indescretions, while apprantly, during the exact same time, he was engaged in extra-marital relations. We should expect the mainstream media to dig up and exploit any negative tid-bit they can to damage Republican candidates. Expect it.
Newt wasn’t making a big deal out of Clinton’s indiscretions, he was making a BIG DEAL out of Clinton’s lies to Congress, about the indiscretions.

I disagree with Palin, and I’m really disappointed in her for criticizing the media for exposing Newt’s obvious lack of decent moral character. From what I understand, he dumped two wives for younger women, while each of them were struggling with an ordeal, such as cancer! I mean, is this the type of guy we want running our country? I think not! I think it was correct to expose this flaw in his character. It’s no small bit of relevant news!
I just think it is amazing that the mainstream network media will dig up dirt in the past on all conservative candidates with the intent of destroying them and yet cannot report anything on their liberal Democrats they love….Do they really think that we cannot see the bias here? Most people that have been divorced have left baggage and some bad feelings and this is so far in the past and has been so well reported on that no media outlet should allow a shunned, bitter, divorced ex to rattle on about the past…Marianne needs to “GET OVER IT”.
Look how long it took the mainstream media to finally follow up with the John Edwards affair and lovechild? There are many other different examples of how the media is slanted to the left.
