The Madison Project

Team Madison-

In what has already been a wild ride, the Republican Presidential Primary heads to Florida tomorrow. Right now, the momentum is with Mitt Romney, but after Florida, we head towards caucus states and proportional delegates. Which means this thing is far from over.

In Nebraska, Madison Project endorsee Don Stenberg is gaining momentum, both in the polls and in fundraising. You want to give him even more momentum? Donatehere or here.

I also want to introduce you to Daniel Horowitz, a guy who has become one of the foremost political and policy guys in the conservative movement. Last week, Daniel joined the Madison Project team. We are thrilled to have him on board. As many of you have noticed, he has been blogging a lot this week atwww.MadisonProject.com as well as continuing to blog on the front page of Red State. As part of our weekly email blast, I will be adding a compilation of his blog posts (see below).

We are also working on a weekly legislative bulletin so that you, the conservative movement, can follow what is really going on in Washington, DC. We're calling it The Madisonian. It will go out every Monday and the only place you can get it is by being a subscriber to our email list. Please feel free to pass it along to friends and family. I have long felt that the problem with Washington, DC (and why it's out of control) is that the vast majority of the taxpayers have no idea what's really going on there. We're going to change that with The Madisonian.

The Best of Daniel Horowitz

  1. They’ve done it again. The Senate has authorized Obama to issue another $1.2 trillion in debt, bringing our gross federal debt to $16.4 trillion by the end of his first term. In just one term, Obama will have accrued more debt than every president from George Washington to Bill Clinton put together. While Republicans voted against the debt this week, most of them voted for the underlying deal that paved the road for the debt increase in August. Please read more here
  2. The frontrunner for the GOP nomination, Mitt Romney, continues to praise his signature socialist takeover of healthcare in Massachusetts. There is virtually no coredifference between Romneycare and Obamacare, yet he wants us to believe that he will seek to repeal Obamacare at all costs. Please read more here
  3. With Republican control over the House, conservatives should have superior majority over Harry Reid’s non-filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. However, are GOP leaders short-circuiting the legislative process in order to cut out House conservatives? Please read more here
  4. Along with Obama’s fiscal stimulus bills, Ben Bernanke has been engaging in unprecedented monetary stimulus in a failed effort to jumpstart the economy and induce job growth. Despite the dismal failures of these policies, along with the devaluation of our currency, Bernanke plans to exemplify insanity by repeating the same policies. Please read more here
  5. There are too many elected Republicans who are willing to compromise their core principles in order to grow their political power. We need to elect more intrepid leaders who will not engage in Washington-style “deal making.” Ted Cruz, our endorsed candidate who is running for Senate in Texas, explains the meaning of true leadership. Please read more here
  6. Senate Democrats have not passed a budget in over 1,000 days. Now President Obama is planning to submit his annual budget after the prescribed deadline for the 3rd year in a row. Why are Democrats so scared to submit a budget? Please read more here
I hope you have a great week.

For Liberty!
