| Dear Patriot,
I remember a time, just ten short years ago, when it seemed like the issue of gun control had died. In 2001, when the second Million Mom March was held, only 200 people showed up to protest Americans' constitutionally-guaranteed right to bear arms. After the hysteria of the first march against gun rights, the dramatic failure of a follow-up rally seemed like the end of a movement.
For supporters of the Second Amendment like myself, it appeared that the tide of anti-gun propaganda had been dashed against the rocks of constitutional wisdom. Sadly, the intervening decade has proven that such hopes were unfounded. What we really saw was that instead of fading away, the anti-gun movement became more sophisticated. Instead of focusing on holding rallies in DC, they became more engaged, lobbied their Congressional leaders for policy changes, and worked to elect anti-gun officials at all levels of government. As a result, we are less free than we were 10+ years ago.
Fast forward to today, and we're seeing a similar phenomenon on the other side of the political spectrum. Many of us who value the Constitution and are fighting to uphold it first became engaged by attending one of the massive Tea Party rallies starting in 2009. Those on the left and in the liberal media have pointed to the fact that there are fewer Tea Party rallies, and often times lower attendance, and they say that the Tea Party movement is dead.
This is what they fail to recognize: we are not dead. In reality, we're growing stronger, becoming more sophisticated, and finding more and more effective ways to fight for our values of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets.
I'm asking you to do one thing. Please respond --HERE-- and tell us if you think the Tea Party is dead.
Sincerely,
Todd Cefaratti Freedom Organizer
