Dear Patriot,
One of the foundations of American greatness has always been this element of fundamental fairness: those who work hard and get things done are rewarded, while those who are lazy or incompetent are not. This creates an incentive for everyone in society to work hard, leading to more and better innovations, greater economic achievement, and increased job growth.
There are a handful in society, however, who are not subject to this element of fairness. Members of Congress have not passed a federal budget for three years, yet they still receive their paychecks! If you or I didn't do our jobs, we would get fired. Yet Congress is shirking its constitutionally required duty with absolutely no repercussions. This must change, and it must change NOW!
Both houses of Congress are currently considering the No Budget, No Pay Act, which would require members of Congress to forfeit their pay if they fail to pass a budget. This bill is important to changing the culture of corruption in Washington, which is why we've launched our No Budget, No Pay petition.
