Obamacare Under Fire

la-pn-skeptical-kennedy-signals-trouble-for-ob-001
Reporting from Washington—
The Supreme Court’s conservative justices Tuesday laid into the requirement in the Obama administration’s healthcare law that Americans have health insurance, as the court began a much-anticipated second day of arguments on the controversial legislation.
Even before the administration’s top lawyer could get three minutes into his defense of the mandate, some justices accused the government of pushing for excessive authority to require Americans to buy anything.
“Are there any limits,” asked Justice Anthony Kennedy, one of three conservative justices whose votes are seen as crucial to the fate of the unprecedented insurance mandate.

The government forced car insurance on everyone to the benefit to
    all the insurance companys.
Didn't see any car insurance companys going out of business then??
What the difference with this; more money for insurance companys.
Beside those without health insurance should be paying somethings
for all their Doctor & hospital care. Why should it be  free to them
and the rest of us picking up there tab plus or own. Let them pay for
themselves and maybe then the insurance companys won't be raising
premiums to the rest of us by 10% or more every year. At the
rate there are raising premiums & deductables no one will be able to
afford health care except the rich in the near future.

Hmmm - given the origin of this health care plan.... I think they should call it "Romney-Care"  - after all - he was the major proponent for what was implemented in MA - and later became the template for what the dems  put forth.
Yeah.... "Romney-Care"...  Got a nice ring to it, don't it?

There is a powerful irony at work here. Obamacare is being wrongfully portrayed as a "government takeover" of health care, which it most certainly is not. Instead, it is an attempt, through the individual mandate, to AVOID a socialized health care system. If the mandate fails, then the insurance industry will rebel, because only the very sick will sign up, and the whole system will go into a death spiral. We either need the mandate, or we should return to denial of coverage for preexisting conditions and roll back the extension of coverage to the uninsured. If we don't--and here's the irony--our nation will be pushed towards socialized medicine.
  • It is a government takeover, by selling a PRODUCT cheaper, and forcing insurance companies out of business.

Name me one program that the Government has created or taken over that is not now in debt? We do not need the government telling us that we have to have anything. They work for US remember.. ?
