Activists Claim Birth Control Can Help Fight Global Warming
During a discussion series on Monday at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C., speaker and activist Kavita Ramdas argued that contraceptives should be part of a strategy to save the planet, calling lower birth rates a “common sense” part of a climate-change reduction strategy.
At the event, titled “Women’s Health: Key to Climate Adaptation Strategies,” Ramdas pointed to studies conducted by health consultants at the for-profit Futures Group, the government-funded National Center for Atmospheric Research and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, in Austria, to connect contraception with climate change.
Ramdas told The Daily Caller that the research shows “empowering women to time their pregnancies” and avoid unwanted births would reduce carbon emissions between 8 to 15 percent globally.
“It is common sense that when women are able to plan their pregnancies, populations grow more slowly and as a result so do greenhouse gas emissions,” she explained. “Providing access to contraception and preventative health should be one of the many effective strategies used to fight climate change.”
It will have absolutely no affect unless you can control the population in places like Sub Saharan Africa, Bangladesh, India and so on. The upside is there might be fewer babies born to lunatic liberal mothers.
Right! When we have illegals who come here just to have a baby and get on Welfare and then stay on Welfare and have 6 or 8 more children for the tax payers to support. This birth control is not working! Go to a middle or high school and obscure how may young women are either pregnant or pushing a stroller. These kids are on Welfare and having a baby so they can stay here. Boyfriend or ? stays in the apartment with them,. Father figure! THIS IS RESPONSIBILITY!
Birth control only works for the working class who have to work and pay for WELFARE!

When you have finite borders, and finite land mass, you can only sustain so many entities!!!! Contraception will halt global warming? Hmmmm, the human bodies temp is around 97.6 degrees F. give or take a few degrees due to metabolic differences and sickness that produces a fever. So my question is? What are we supposed to do, “SOLYENT GREEN??”

There is no such thing as global warming being caused by man since climate change occurred before man and occurs in cycles. Carbon Dioxide is a necessary gas. Plants and trees use take in carbon dioxide and release the oxygen. Without carbon dioxide all life would vanish from the face of the earth. It is normal for climate to change and has been occurring since the beginning of time. If we aren’t careful and eliminate too much carbon dioxide we could cause our own extinction. I think it’s much more important to replace trees that are cut down after all they are responsible for generating most of our oxygen.
My Grandfather once said, ” I have never seen it so green around here, seems that we are doing something right since the automobile.” If you don’t have CO2, you don’t have O2 and we die. Didn’t you libs ever take biology or chemistry???
