Update: Second GOP Senator Threatens to Break ‘Tax Pledge’

Dear Fellow American:

GOP Senator Lindsey Graham on Sunday threatened to defect with fellow establishment Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss to join Obama and the Democrats who are desperate to increase job-killing taxes on already beleaguered hardworking Americans.

Sens. Graham and Chambliss promised the voters of South Carolina and Georgia they’d ‘oppose any and all tax increases’ if they got elected.

Both senators made this promise when they affirmatively signed the ‘Taxpayer Protection Pledge’ authored by Americans for Tax Reform.

South Carolinians and Georgians hate tax hikers.

Sens. Graham and Chambliss face voters in 2014 for reelection.

“‘I will violate the pledge, long story short, for the good of the country, only if Democrats will do entitlement reform,’ said Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham on ABC’s ‘This Week’”.

Graham foolishly believes Obama will stop spending.

But giving Democrats more of our money only encourages the bad behavior.

Graham also wants you to believe closing a ‘tax loophole’ – like your mortgage interest deduction or even charitable contributions to your church – are really not tax increases.

But if closing a so-called ‘tax loophole’ takes money out of your pocket and puts it into the hands of government bureaucrats, doesn’t that make it a tax increase?

If it looks like a tax, feels like a tax, and smells like a ‘rat’, then it’s probably a tax!

Revive America PAC is opposed to any and all tax increases.

Our position is that all ‘new revenues’ derived from any new or increased taxes, government fees, or from the closing of ‘tax loopholes’ must be matched with equal or greater tax cuts elsewhere.

This commonsense position exposes feckless Washington politicians who play deceptive ‘shell-games’ to trick voters into accepting ‘phantom’ tax hikes in the name of real ‘tax reform’.

So when Sen. Lindsey Graham told ABC News ‘he agrees with pledge champion Grover Norquist’ not to raise tax rates, but only to generate ‘revenue through capping tax deductions’, he’s playing a ‘shell-game’.

The stakes couldn’t be higher.

At the stroke of midnight on December 31, 2012, America faces a massive automatic tax increase if Congress refuses to renew the current tax rates, better known as the Bush tax cuts.

In fact, if Congress simply does nothing at all, your income taxes will jump by 10 percent or more, capital gains taxes will increase by more than one-third, and taxes on dividends will almost triple.

Revive America PAC believes we need to keep the current tax rates in place.

Revive America PAC is conducting a National Survey on renewing the Bush tax cuts.

We also want to know your views on the ‘Taxpayer Protection Pledge’ authored by American’s for Tax Reform.

You can participate in this Urgent National Survey by Clicking Here Now.

This week, the lame-duck Congress returns to Washington from its Thanksgiving break.

Taxes and spending are the number one issues facing Congress.

Some Republicans in Congress want to compromise with the Democrats.

Over the next 72 hours, Revive America must quickly make urgent decisions on how to use our limited resources to stop this job-killing automatic tax increase.

Revive America can only fight the battles our members support.

Thank you for all that you do.

Yours for America,

P.S. – Republican Senator Lindsey Graham’s defection to help Obama raise taxes isn’t the first time he’s sold us out.  Only three weeks ago, Graham campaigned with the Democrats to defeat Tea Party Patriot John Raese, who was the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate from West Virginia.  Help Revive America PAC to send a powerful message to the establishment. Go Here Now to Donate
