Wounded Warriors Project.......gun control?
Replies to This Discussion
- Kat, is the Wounded Warrior Project using donations to advocate gun control? Has anyone made Trace Adkins aware of this?
- If you go to Charity Navigators and review WWP ratings, you will find they have a three star rating. I do not understand that rating when I look at the percentage of money used to raise funds. Also, I have not quite figured out how the ratings work. To me the fund raising is too high considering that this project has been supported by Bill O'Rielly on Fox News. It also does not have advertising expenses since they get a lot of exposure through Bill O'Rielly. I have not heard his program do advertisement for WWP for several months now. Maybe Bill O'Rielly know something that he is not willing to share. There are many groups raising money for military personnel, which is a very admirable mission, however, many are not worth a hoot in a wind storm. So be very careful of your donations. It is very easy for leftist to raise a banner under the guise of helping our military families, in fact use the funds for their agenda. BE EXTREMELY careful when the words veterans, military, feed the hungry, etc are used. Emotions can override common sense.
- It's not unusual for organizations that start out with worthy goals and objectives to turn into feeding frenzy of the overhead bureaucracy or becoming a political organ.........I'm still not sure about the WWP position on gun control but when they waffle in clarifying their statements, disappointment will likely follow. As Betz Hermes indicates, OReilly needs to get some mail on this issue... oreilly@foxnews.com
- I just sent oreilly an email asking if he knows anything about this. Doubt ill get a response, but IF i do, ill let yall know.
- I sent one also Kim...............
- I have been trying for several weeks now to get to the bottom ( or top if you will) the truth behind the project. I have asked several times on other sites for those warriors who have been helped to tell us how they were or were not helped. |I have received not one response.Gary Sinise who was one of the initial beginners of this project also remains silent. When the head of the project was asked to do a talk show he refused at first then gave in to public outcry and furor. They remain syeadfast in their anti-gun stance. As i find out more I will present it further here.
- I have worked with this program as a volunteer at meet & greet events in Orlando, FL; seemed like a very worthehile program. I personally know some of the wounded working in the program as well as AD Army personnel. I will inquire about what is going on and report ASAP.
- Larry.......I think this entire issue is centered at the top of the policy makers........certainly not at the troop level. We need the truth on the anti-gun policy and if it's true, heads should roll before the entire program is tainted and the warriors suffer..........
- Go to for percentage and other information
- Trace Adkins should be brought up to speed on this!!! Bill O'reilly favors gun control and has said so on his FOX News broadcasts!! The Semper FI Fund is an alternative!! SHAME!!, SHAME!!!, SHAME!!!!, on the managers of the Wounded Warriors fund!!!
- This is one of the latest links to what is turning out to be a major thorn in the side of this once noble project. The obvious is the anti-Constitutional position they take on gun control while claiming they are helping the very ones who fought and suffered while fighting for that right and all others designated in our BILL OF RIGHTS.You simply can not pick and choose which amendments meet with your disfavor...it is a matter of all or nothing... If not all you need to re-think what it is you use the Constitution as being the foundation of your cause or organization. It is the most defining document ever written with regard to what it conveys......it can not be treated any longer as the illegal in our White House does....hmmm,.. I think I will eliminate this right, and if met with disapproval by Congress, I think an EO is needed..These warriors, heroes by all means, shed their blood on foreign soil, fighting for a cause they thought would save their native land....they were duped into thinking so by an entity with a history of lies, treason, and even murder....in reference to the Benghazi horror.,who used them for his gratification. Then there emerges a project that can not have been more gut wrenching then one for helping our nation's wounded. Who could refute what they stood for? THEY DID THEMSELVES BY ADMITTING THEY ARE ANTI-GUN AND ONLY THEY AND GOD ALONE KNOW HOW MUCH OF MY DOLLARS AND YOURS WENT TO FIGHT THEIR CAUSE, THEIR TRUE CAUSE...PERHAPS?I am going to my local VFW and others in surrounding areas to find out first hand who and how many of these heroes live near me. I will donate personally to them what I would have given to the WWP knowing it will reach the hands of the ones who fought for me.... I owe them my gratitude. Those who view them as I do as Sacred Warriors go also to your VFWS and then try the local USO or Veteran's Hospital. There are avenues for first hand contact with these heroes and we owe them so much more.
