If you watch some of the attack ads being run against me -- and withnearly $5 millionalready spent, you have plenty to choose from -- you’ll notice something:They’re all about scaring Ohioans.
They’re making wild accusations about tax hikes and government takeovers -- they’ve even brought back the “death panels” lie from the health care debate. The idea? Scare middle class Ohioans into voting against their own economic interests, and scare progressives like you and me into abandoning our beliefs.
But I’ll tell you what the far right is afraid of: you. They know that if people like you reject their scare tactics and stand strong behind this campaign, we’ll win. And if you’re ready to take a stand right now, I need your help -- make a contribution and help our No Fear Fund reach the $500,000 goal in time for the March 31 deadline.
This country is changing in ways the far right can’t stand. Ordinary people are banding together to take on the entrenched interests that have owned Washington for too long. Progressives are finding their voice and demanding economic policies that support the middle class, not just the wealthiest few. And despite attempts by social conservatives to turn back the clock on women’s rights, more and more Americans are ready to see the arc of history keep moving towards justice.
This onslaught of nasty smears is the far right’s last chance to stop us from making progress. And if you will stand with me and fight back, we can move this country forward together.
